Choctawhatchee River, Choctawhatchee Bay, many spring-fed creeks and streams, extremely rare coastal dune lakes and the beach.

The hilly terrain makes Walton County different from the rest of Florida.

 

Florida's highest point, Britton Hill ( 345 feet), is located in Walton County

North Walton County centers around the county seat, DeFuniak Springs

 

The town is known for its lovely round spring-fed lake and Historic District that encircles the old campus of the Florida Chautaugua Assembly.  

South Walton County centers around 16 neighborhood beaches along 26 miles of white sand coastline – and the tourism they attract.
