Florida Keys

Eco-Discovery Center

March 15 - 26, 2017

"The Splash Trash Tour is a wonderful way to reinforce the Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center’s mission of education and outreach about the need to preserve and protect the fragile marine environments around the world."

Craig Wanous, Tour Host Coordinator

The Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center is sponsored and operated by the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, one of fifteen marine protected areas that make up our National Marine Sanctuary System.

The Splash Trash Tour Pop-Up Show will be housed at the Eco-Discovery Center which features exhibits that interpret the ecology of Keys' habitats

"The timing for the Splash Trash Tour visit couldn’t be better! The Tour will be hosting our monthly children’s program, enabling the Center and the Splash Trash Tour to reach the youth of our community with an interactive program about plastic pollution in the ocean."

Craig Wanous

This sanctuary protects 2,900 square nautical miles of waters surrounding the Florida Keys.

Within its boundaries lie spectacular, unique and nationally significant marine resources, including the world’s third largest barrier reef, extensive seagrass beds, mangrove-fringed islands and more than 6,000 species of marine life.
